. Prepare the Body
Take your paper cup and wrap it in grey or brown craft paper. Use your craft glue to secure it. If you have a colored paper cup that already matches your koala, you can skip the wrapping and get straight to the features!
2. Assemble the Ears
Glue the light pink inner ear pieces onto the center of the larger outer ear circles. Once dry, glue the ears to the top sides of the paper cup.
Tip: Positioning them slightly toward the back of the rim gives the koala a cute, 3D look.
3. Add the Face
- The Nose: Glue the large black oval (the nose) right in the center of the cup. Koalas are famous for those big, dark noses!
- The Eyes: Stick your googly eyes just above the nose.
- The Details: Use a Sharpie to draw a small anchor-shaped mouth under the nose or add some little whisker dots.
4. Belly and Hair
Glue the pink belly piece to the lower half of the cup. Then, take the hair tuft and glue it to the inside front rim of the cup so it pokes out between the ears.
5. Attach the Arms
Glue the arms to the sides of the cup. You can glue them flat, or only glue the “shoulder” part so the arms wrap around the cup as if the koala is giving it a big hug!
🌿 Fun Fact: Why Eucalyptus?
Since you mentioned they get their water from leaves, it’s also cool to know that eucalyptus leaves are actually toxic to most animals! Koalas have a specialized digestive system that breaks down the toxins, allowing them to snack on what others can’t
