How to Make Your Clay Pig

1. Shape the Body and Head

Roll the light pink clay into two balls—one large ball for the body and a slightly smaller one for the head. Press them together gently.

Pro Tip: If the clay is a bit dry, a tiny drop of water can help the pieces stick together, though foam clay usually bonds easily!

2. Add the Snout

Take a small piece of the dark pink clay and roll it into a small oval. Flatten it slightly and press it onto the center of the head. Use your clay tool (or a toothpick) to poke two little holes for the nostrils.

3. Ears and Limbs

  • Ears: Make two small triangles out of light pink clay. Flatten two even smaller triangles of dark pink clay and press them onto the light pink ones to make the inner ears. Attach them to the top of the head—you can even fold one tip down for a “floppy ear” look!
  • Legs: Roll four small, equal-sized cylinders from the light pink clay and attach them to the bottom of the body so your pig can stand up.

4. The Eyes

Roll two tiny balls of white clay and flatten them onto the face above the snout. Then, add even tinier dots of black clay for the pupils. This gives your pig a bright, alert expression!

5. Don’t Forget the Tail!

Roll a very thin “snake” of light pink clay. Coil it around a pencil or your finger to give it a curly shape, then attach it to the back of the pig.

🐖 Fun Fact: Why do they roll in mud?

Since you mentioned they don’t have sweat glands, the mud actually acts as a natural sunscreen! It protects their sensitive skin from sunburn and keeps bugs away, acting like a cool, refreshing spa treatment.
