How to make the DIY Felt Cat Plushie

1. Prepare Your Pieces Trace the template onto your felt. You’ll need two body pieces (brown), a belly patch (white), two small inner ears (pink), and two tail pieces. Cut them out carefully—as mentioned, some of these pieces are small!

2. Assemble the Face and Belly On one of the body pieces (the front), sew or glue the white belly patch and the pink inner ears. Use your black thread to stitch a tiny nose and mouth, or use small black felt circles for the eyes.

3. Prepare the Tail Place the two tail cutouts together. Stitch around the edges, leaving the straight end open. Stuff it lightly with a tiny bit of cotton or scrap felt to give it some volume.

4. Join the Body Place the front body piece on top of the back body piece. Sandwich the open end of the tail between the two layers at the bottom corner so it sticks out. Pin it in place.

5. Stitch and Stuff Start stitching around the perimeter of the body. When you reach the tail, make sure to stitch through all three layers (front, tail, and back) to secure it. Leave a small 1-inch gap at the top.

6. Final Flourish Push your cotton stuffing through the gap until the cat is soft and squishy. Once it’s full, stitch the gap closed. Your DIY Felt Cat Plushie is ready for cuddles!
