. Prepare Your Square
Start with a square piece of craft paper ($4 \times 4$ inches). You can use solid colors or fun patterns to make a tropical-looking fish.
2. Create the Crease Lines
Fold the paper in half vertically and horizontally, then unfold it. You should now have two intersecting lines that mark the center of the square.
3. Fold the Corners
Fold the top left and top right corners down so they meet at the center horizontal crease line. This will create a pointed shape at the top, looking a bit like the roof of a house.
4. Create the Body Shape
Fold the bottom edge of the paper up to meet that same center horizontal line. Now, take the left and right sides and fold them toward the center vertical line.
5. Form the Tail
To create the characteristic fish tail, take the bottom corners you just folded and pull them outward slightly at an angle. This creates the “fins” at the back of the fish.
6. Final Details
Flip your paper over to see the smooth side of your fish! Glue on a googly eye near the front point. You can use your pencil or a marker to draw some scales or decorative patterns on the body.
