Bay Area Woman Buys Billboards to Find Love: Meet Lisa Catalano

Forget swiping left or right — Lisa Catalano, a 41-year-old from San Mateo, California, has gone all out in her search for love. Instead of dating apps, she has rented a dozen billboards along Highway 101 to promote her personal website: MarryLisa.com.

The site invites eligible bachelors to apply to date her and includes details about her personality, lifestyle, and what she’s looking for in a partner.

Why Billboards?

Catalano told KRON that she decided on this unusual approach after running into disappointment on more traditional dating paths.

“I just want to meet somebody,” she said. “I just wasn’t having any luck any other way.”

Who Lisa Is Looking Fo

On her website, Lisa makes her intentions clear: she’s serious about marriage and starting a family within the next two to three years.

She describes herself as:

  • High energy and active, with a healthy lifestyle.
  • A big fan of the San Francisco Giants (with a cheeky “sorry, Dodgers fans” note).
  • A convertible owner who enjoys adventure.

When it comes to a partner, she’s hoping to find someone who matches her energy and values.

“It just comes down to chemistry,” she explained, “but it’s also things like religion, politics, lifestyle. I want somebody who leads a healthy lifestyle like I do — and somebody who wants to get married and have kids.”

A Personal Journey

Lisa’s return to dating follows heartbreak — she lost her fiancé to a terminal illness in late 2023. Now, she says she feels ready to open her heart again.

“I hope that this is a great story that we can tell our future children,” she told KRON.

Interested bachelors can submit applications directly on MarryLisa.com. The form includes basic information, hobbies, and personality descriptions, along with space to upload photos.

There’s even an option for friends or relatives to apply on behalf of someone they think would be a good match, complete with a prompt asking why they’re recommending him.

Lisa has also shared YouTube videos where she talks about her dating preferences — from being open to kissing on the first date, to her celebrity crush (David Duchovny of The X-Files), to her love for her large extended family.
